Cancun Water Temperature

Water Temperature in Cancun, Mexico.
Cancun can be found on the Yucatan Peninsula. The city boasts about 240 days of sunshine each year, which is the most out of all the Caribbean resort destinations. June to September is Cancun's rainy period but the city only sees about 55 days of rain throughout the year.

There really isn't a bad time to visit the city but the best weather is from February to April which also happens to be peak travel period so the hotels in Cancun are more expensive.

The water temperature is pleasant year round hovering around 80 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the year. During the winter months the water temperature can drop to 75 degrees Fahrenheit but the water is still warm enough to swim.

Basically the only time you can't swim in Cancun is during a hurricane, bearing-in-mind hurricane season runs from June though November.

An important factor to consider when vacationing in Cancun in the humidity which remains at about 85% all year long. Although the humidity can make it feel hotter than it is, most hotels have air-conditioning and there is always a pool or the ocean to cool off in.
